It is FILLED with information, very easy to read for any level, and the pictures are an incredible balance between the written information. Our 11 year old kids were excited to get their hands on it and start reading all by themselves. We look forward to using the book to guide us into the world of archery. In memory of our son and for a way for the rest of us to bond. Thank you Christian Berg for sharing your love for archery and writing such an insightful book for us to follow.

This book is full of the fundamentals for archery! It's great for starting out or to refer back to even as a seasoned archer. There are many photos that illustrate the details. Easy to read and understand!

Bought this book for my son who got his first compound bow last year. The author gives easy-to-follow descriptions and instruction. While thorough, it does not seem overly wordy or full of unnecessary filler. As someone who does not know a lot about archery, I can honestly say that this is a "Must Have" for anyone who wants to learn more about the sport, whether for target shooting or hunting. A+

Archery from A-Z is a great book. From cover to cover it’s filled with lots of amazing photos. Perfect for teaching young archers the basics or even for experienced archers looking to try out different skills. Bought 2 copies and can’t wait for some nice Spring weather to get out and sharpen our skills as a family.

All of my kids enjoyed the Poky Little Puppy. So when my son announced that his wife is expecting their first child, this is one of the books I selected to start the baby's library. (yes, I'm old fashioned; every child should have a library.) This is one of the original Little Golden books, loved by many children. I"m looking forward to reading this to a new generation!

Before you balk at the $8.99 list price, keep in mind that this is the 65th anniversary edition of a Little Golden Book classic. Here is what you get:1) First of all, the binder's board used on the front and back cover is much thicker (and consequently more durable) than the original edition.2) The cover material (front, back and spine) is a single piece. The cover material wraps around the binder's board and is held in place by the front and back endsheets. This will virtually eliminate any peeling of the cover over time.3) I'm not certain what weight the paper is that was used throughout the book, but it is a much heavier paper than the original edition. This should minimize if not eliminate tears caused by young children. In addition, the semi-gloss paper makes it more stain resistant.4) Moreover, the pages are held together using the smyth sewn binding process, which means each signature spread is sewn together using binders thread. This is the highest quality bookbinding method available and virtually eliminates the possiblity of pages ever coming loose.5) Finally, there is a 4-page addendum entitled "The Story of 'The Pokey Little Puppy'" that includes a photo of both the author and the illustrator. It's worth noting that even though the book has gone on to sell millions of copies, Janette Sebring Lowrey was paid a flat fee of $75 for writing the story.When my children were young, I paid less than a dollar for Little Golden Books. They now list for $3.99. So, this anniversary edition isn't all that pricey; and for the added features, it's a bargain. My grandson will love it!VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Very cute story and I somewhat remember reading this years ago as I'm now reading it to my child. I give it that the worldbuilding was pretty fantastic, with a god-like creature that keeps sending signs to all the anthropomorphic creatures that romp about, giving and taking away favours all willy-nilly, almost as if it was attempting to teach all the characters a very important lesson but however now as reading it as a adult the message behind it all is strongly portrayed throughout the book.

I love that The Poky Little Puppy has been published - in the full-length version - as a board book. I selected this book as an "instead of an enclosure card" for a friend's baby shower because it was one of my favorites when I was a little girl. My copy of the book was a hand-me-down from my older brother, and it was probably one of the first printings of the book. It's great that the publishers of Little Golden Books recognize the value of continuing to print some of their originals!

I'm writing this off of my husband's account. I just received this book in the mail today! My husband and I both grew up with the majority of these books. So when we had our son, one of the first things we wanted for him was a decent book collection. He's only 11 months old and loves sitting down and having books read to him. These books are perfect as well as really decently priced. We've gone through a few different avenues to purchase books, and although this is the first book from this company, we'll definitely be back for the rest. They're classics to us. I'm positive our son will grow to love them as much as we have. I'll probably be keeping a few to hand down to our grandkids as well. - Cheryl M

One of my favorite stories growing up, and I'm not sure if I still have the old copy tucked away at my folks' house or not, so I had to order a copy when I read it was the book's 75th birthday.Thanks to Amazon's less-than-stellar packaging (reported to them) a corner of the book had a small bend in it, but that didn't affect how great this story is. Pages are nice and thick, will take a little work to get the creases worn in so they flip a bit smoother.

Another in a long line of "Little Golden Book" series for young children. This was bought as a gift and we hope it provides a good base for young ones who first need pictures to understand the story and a willing parent to read to them, and then later a great tool for them as they too learn to read. Well laid out, easy to read and photos are wonderful. What child could resist a cuddly puppy as part of a wonderful story.

I remember this book from my childhood. My five year old daughter loves it. I dont understand some of the complaints about it being old fashioned and not having enough pictures and rubbish like that. Kids today lack the enormous imagination that my generation and older generations had (I'm 34). Not to knock today's great children's authors, but I like the fact that older books made us think and imagine what characters or places looked like. Yes, this book may be "old fashioned" but so what? Give your child some sense of culture - present and past. Some of the bad reviews said the book didn't teach kids a good lesson, or that it sent mixed signals. With all of the mindless television shows and video games out there, does every book in this genre need to have a lesson to learn? Reading is already a learning process and it is very healthy for the brain.I will be introducing more older books to my daughter along with the newer books available. I did the same with my older children and that helped to broaden their reading options.

The Poky Little Puppy was one of my childhood favorites and now I have it for my kids to enjoy. I also purchased The Shy Little Kitten and both are a great addition for our bedtime stories (not too long, not too short.) They’re also a good beginning reading level for my kindergartener. I have a feeling our Golden Books collection will be growing, definitely recommend ..!

Another in the Classics of Western Spirituality series. The Zohar is a text cosidered inspired or semi-canonical by some Jews. It is considered a kabbalistic text, and as such is really a significant kabbalistic exegesis on the Torah. Daniel Matt is considered one of the finest scholars on the subject, and this book provides a worthy introduction. He begins with a discussion of the somewhat controversial hsitory of the Zohar (when it was written and by whom), the emergence of the Zohar as a religious text, and the challenges of interpretation. He then exerpts about 5% of the text, translates it, and provides a detailed exegesis and interpretation of the symbolism and meaning in the notes. Without reading the exegetical notes, one will be very lost in just reading the text - and even after reading the notes, without a good familiarity of the Bible and even some of the Talmud, it is tough sledding. I wish the exegetical notes followed each excerpt instead of being in a separate appendix to avoid having to flip back and forth for the necessary interpretation. This relatively minor criticism aside, if you have interest in the subject, this scholarly and approachable work will be a welcome read.

One of my favorites, I have spent many an evening going over it's pages, and studying it's concepts, not light reading.

One of the best books on the Zohar. Dr Matt hasselected some of the most easily entered of themysteries on this amazing teaching.

This is an excellent book, tough only a small part of the Zohar, reading, explanation and comments gives a clear idea of what meant Moses de Leon in 1300. A great read, highly recommended for those just starting out in this kind of reading.

Purchased this to add to my Classics of Western Spirituality collection. When I get around to reading it, probably years from now, I'll probably review it then.

Compressed version of Daniel Matts ideas and translation of the Zohar which he would later go on to expand in the first 9 volumes of the Zohar Pritzker edition. This is a great volume to get- to help you decide if you wish to study the topic in depth. If you're at all interested in the subjject this is a good place to start.

Am a first time home owner and have no clue what to do with my yard so I bought this book to help me along my journey. I found the book easy to follow and read. Each chapter is laid out in a logical way and I like the monthly quick tips at the end of each, it gives you a nice checklist of sorts of what you need to do each month. I would have liked to see an appendix at the end of the book cataloging all the plants in one place instead of having to reference different chapters.

This is the most accessible book for gardening I have ever (partially) read. Even though I'm just getting started, Doug Welsh has a very conversational tone, and the book is organized very graphically.I bought this book because I wanted specific advice on how to deal with the challenges of the Texas environment, and this book promises to do that marvelously. It provides specific plant varieties that do well in the challenging Texas climate. Also, it feels like it is trying to be a companion to your garden, and it has charts that tell you WHAT to do, and WHEN to do them, which what I was looking for as I often look at my yard, and have no idea where to start.Some other gardening books may be more comprehensive as to what types of gardens there are (rock gardens, water gardens, etc), or gardening techniques, or have more nationally inclusive plant varieties, but few will take your hand and walk you through like the Texas Garden Almanac.I'd highly recommend this book to anyone in Texas, who doesn't know where to start, but knows that they want to do more to their yard/garden.

This is a fantastic book. It's organized by months of the year, which is especially important for a beginner like me. I had planned to use it as a reference book, as questions came up. So imagine my surprise when I picked it up to read and found the prose easy-going and readable! I'm not completely through it yet, but it looks like I'll be reading soup to nuts, as well as using it for future reference! I wish all how-to books were this interesting AND accessible!

As a new homeowner, I wanted to make sure I got my landscaping and yard care right for the Texas temperatures and climate. This almanac nailed every topic I needed to know more about and did so in a very user friendly manner. A must for any Texas Gardener young or seasoned! You will not go wrong with this one!

Excellent practical resource for dealing with the exasperating vagaries of Texas weather and soil conditions. It's nice to finally have a gardening reference that is focused on the environment that exists here.This is the first book I check when I have a gardening question. I have given copies to a municipal department, my parents, and all of my siblings. And now that my children have their own homes, I am purchasing copies for them as well. Every homeowner in Texas should have one. The section on "How to Water" is particularly instructive, especially given our ongoing water issues.

Good book to learn about trees, plants, shrubs that do well in Texas. Invest landscape dollars wisely with plants that are appropriate for your landscape.

I love this book! This is going to be my Texas gardening bible! I'm a new gardener and the author makes things easy to understand for beginners.

What a delicious and wicked dark read. Donata is a good girl mafia princess, but one mistake and her life changes forever. She is given to Diego, the man who she made look bad by her actions. This was a great read, I finished it in one day. Can't wait to read more from this author. I have consumed all of her books.

What you see, not always what you get. That's Diego. He is the enforcer in the Chicago mafia family. Known ruthless, only need one small princess to see the truth behind his wall. Oh yes, Diego have his darkness. He have secrets that makes Donata his pawn. Revenge and violence fuels him. Nothing will stop him from this target until the princess stole his heart.A Grey mafia romance, I would say. Diego actually kinda sweet. A dominant Alpha, yes. But the way he acts around Donata... Rawwwr I want my own Diego😂And Donata... Not her big fan at first. I like how the author give her opportunity to bloom and become her own woman and not just a princess.Love their steamy scenes. Love the half part to the end.

This is a great read and I highly recommend it. Especially to all the dark twisted romance lovers out there.Donata is a good girl mafia princess, but one wrong decision and her life will never be the same. Diego is the man that gets to ruin the mafia princess because her decision messed things up for him and made him look bad. Diego has secrets and he will use Donata as a pawn in his game to get what he wants. Part of what he wants consists of humiliating and ruining little Miss Donata and she definitely hates him for everything he's putting her through. Underneath it all there is an attraction between these two but nothing can ever come of it. One because Donata refuses to let him break her and she definitely doesn't trust him. And two because Diego has plans for himself and his crew when it comes to moving up in the cruel mafia world he lives in. As much as he'd like to keep Donata he knows he must use her and give her to the cruel underboss, Angelo in order to keep up appearances. Will they be able to save each other or will they end up tearing each other down? Grab this wonderfully written story and find out. make sure to hold on tight because it's a twisted wicked tale and will have you hanging on the edge of your seat to find out what happens!!!

This is a great start to a new series! Diego and Donata are the protagonists in this mafia romance. Without spoiling too much, Diego is "given" Donata as a sex toy and must humiliate her in public and private. Over the course of the story, motivations change between the two. It's a gripping and very angsty read. I loved it and read it in one session:) The only quibble I had was that the ending seemed a little rushed to me. Donata and Diego still seemed to have some things to work out. Overall, I recommend!

This was action packed, everything that happens is tied up in a pretty little bow for you so you're left wondering about nothing. The supposed jerk wasn't really a jerk bad guy after all, a nice guy in a tough situation. This couple itself was a side story and hard to relate to them as a unit, but they were good characters individually. Overall a decent mafia read. Diego hi!self was a good character, I think he could've been amazing if more focus was on him versus everything else.

Donata is a typical Italian mafia princess, protected, sheltered, and kept from the ugliness of the mob but then she does something that disgraces her family and she is given to the man, Diego, whom she did the unspeakable thing to, and he has 30 days to make her into property to be used by the Mafia bosses.I found this story exciting, with a twist on how we all believe the mafia runs and treats women.I love Ginger Talbot's stories, and Diego is a really good story!

This is such an awesome book about a mafia enforcer and a mafia princess. The story keeps you on edge and reading like crazy. The characters are great with some smoking hot chemistry. Mystery, suspense, and lots of sexy parts make this an amazing book to read. Enjoy!!

Good book with some excellent colour plates. Have 40 Napoleonic books some with better information but still find it useful

Being a Dutch reenactor and figure painter, I thoroughly enjoyed this well-illustrated book....till I arrived at the Dutch-Belgian uniforms. I know that Dutch-Belgian uniforms are not well documented in English sources, but the several errors I found ( cuffs, plumes, shakoplates etc. ) made me realize there's still a lot of work to be done in order to make sure the figure painter that wants to paint ALL of the uniforms at Waterloo has all the proper information he needs.
