This little book of Rivenbark wit is a series of little thoughts, ideas and blog postings that are her trademark work.Miss Celia delivers and stands tall with her ability to put in text those naughty things we were all thinking. Sit back and enjoy a little leisure time with a glass of sweet tea and let her voice bring back memories of sitting around kitchen tables listening to the ladies talk (and gossip) and feel good when you smile at things your mama may have taught you weren't ladylike. Go ahead. I dare you.As for you ladies that are not Southern, please take a peek and know we are all the same at heart.

I'm a big fan of Celia's writing and snatch up everything she writes so if you like funny sarcastic and yet authentic Southern writing, then this book will keep you laughing until your ribs hurt. Don't sweat it- just buy it and read it. Then share it because it's too flipping funny to keep to yourself.

What a hoot! Celia Rivenbark never fails to put in writing exactly what I think in certain situations but never dare to say. Her take is honest,straight forward,and hilarious because we have all been through the same situations and met these type of people and are annoyed,but have no idea how to handle the anger and ill will they create. Celia has no problem with that at all. The best part is you can read one chapter,get your chuckle for the day,the come back later for more and not miss a beat. She takes the everyday trials and tribulations and turns them upside down.Not sure if the best part is about line jumpers or the Christmas newsletters,both had me laughing so hard I cried. Just like George Carlin and Bill Cosby, she makes everyday,mundane things very funny,and with no four letter words,as she is a southern lady....I think the best part of any of her books is that you can re-read them in 6 months and still laugh just as hard....

As a native southerner I get a little scared when other natives write books about us. Well not me ALL of us. But the "us" that make us look bad.I let my friends read it first. Clearly I had nothing to worry about. From start to finish a poignant and accurate depiction written in glorious southern color. I hope my beach free wifi holds out long enough for me to finish the downloads of her other books.

This is a book of hilarious anecdotes that are spot on! -- & are best read out loud with one or more girlfriends! I have given this book so many times that I keep a few on hand. For friends confined for a (seemingly) long period of time & recovering from surgery or illness I put together a gift bag or basket of small, inexpensive but useful items--to be opened one a day. I always include this book..laughter IS the best medicine!

I love this author. Any southern woman would benefit from reading any of her works. It brings a sense of home to us southerners and the author can capture everyday scenarios with so much humor and wit. She will keep you coming back.

As big fans of Celia Riverbark, who makes her home in the Wilmington, NC area near where we live, it is a joy to read her latest creation. She continues her quirky, good natured and sharp witted look at life with this latest gem in her string of hits. If you are not already a Celia fan, you will be after reading this latest effort. Highly recommend!

I've read several of Celia Rivenbark's books and they are amusing but I wonder if she's run out of what made her early books funny. There's nothing wrong with this book but if you're looking for laugh-out-loud stories, this just doesn't make it. I really like a humor break from time-to-time so I certainly will continue to at least look at her future publications with the hope that her former spark re-appears.

This Geometry textbook is really helpful for students who are planning to take or willing to take PAP Geometry in highs school.Formulas and explanations of all aspects of geometry are well explained and easy to understand.Also, example questions after each explanation are very basic yet very essential.Practice questions get difficult as it goes which helps students know what parts they do understand and the parts they do not understand.Answers and explanations at the end of the textbook are self explanatory and simple.I highly recommend this text book to students who want to study geometry by themselves over the summer.

Geometry book that is user friendly because it has many examples. You can practice and check your answers in the back of the book.

They were good enough to send me a second copy of a used book when the first went missing during shipping. It was in a very good condition though. The very good book to use as a reference material and also as a supplementary material for students taking Geometry 1 Geometry 1 hons. The explanations and examples are very good in cultivating deep concepts. it works best when used with the Workbook. If it hadn't arrived so late I would have given it full 5 stars!

As a math tutor, I bought this text book to go with the Algebra 1 and Algebra 2 text books of the same series (and same authors). This series of books is somewhat dated, as compared to the current high school curriculum, but it's very comprehensive.

Great book at great price.

These books are used by my school district, and I use them as a reference for teaching. What I like about them is they give clear examples and are fairly straightforward and user-friendly, unlike some math texts that are just a jumble of words to read. These have all the important concepts in bold, and in nice neat-looking little green-bordered boxes. And, of course, answers to odd problems in the back. If you are a teacher looking for a reference text or a parent who is home-schooling, I highly recommend this textbook series.~ Mistyteacher & tutor for over 12 years

I particularly like the way it teaches proofs, and illustrates the various tangent, secant, and other issues. I bought this book for my Nephew because I obsessed with tigers and I hope to foster a love of animals in him because unfortunately tigers are on the endangered species list and I want him to remember these majestic animals in case they are no longer around when he is my age. This book by National Geographic is AWESOME, it detailed information about tigers I absolutely never knew, and I thought I knew a lot about them! It is chock-full of info, statistics, full-color photos, graphs, maps, etc. detailing EVERYTHING about a tiger's life and what they do and what we must do in order to protect them. I haven't seen any other books in this series from National Geographic but some have been recommended to me and I think I'll pick those up for my Nephew as well.

Book arrived bent and looks “used” I was going to give as a gift but couldn’t in that condition. It is a very thin book. I didn’t return because it just isn’t worth it for the cost, but would not buy it again.The content is fine for a younger child as most Nat Geo books are nice content, but this was disappointing due to the conditions it was shipped in.

This is a great first book for any child interested in tigers. It was bought for a 4 yr old. There is a page that describes and shows that Tigers do eat other animals in the wild, so if this may upset some children to see, maybe not a good idea

He is pre-K & just learning to read. The tiger is his favorite animal.Note to the squeamish: The author keeps it real & doesn't present them as cute over-grown pets. They're preditors and there's a picture showing a tiger with his just-caught meal. Not gruesome but certainly factual.I think Laura Marsh is one of the best children's book authors ever. Her series presents various creatures gently but factually as they really are. She knows how to keep the interests of the 4-8 year old set which is a talent few adults possess. I'll be looking over some of the other authors in the National Geographic children's books. But for the time being I think her books are so good that I'll buy them all first.

My 6 year old needs to read non-fiction books as part of her school curriculum. The National Geographic Series of leveled readers has been great. We started at 1 and now can do both levels 2 & 3. They sometimes introduce vocabulary terms specific to the animal or topic which I need to step in and help define, but other than that they can be read all on their own.

We own quite a few of the national geographic readers and we love them all. They are appropriately laid out for young readers, my daughter loves the riddles/jokes and she loves learning interesting facts about the animals and sharing them with the family. I am very pleased with this purchase and will continue to buy others in the series.

Nice book. Very colorful. Pages are a little heavier with a laminated feel.

This is another great book for young kids. My 5 year old is fascinated with lions and tigers. We have read this many times and he has learned lots of useful facts. The pictures are nice.
