What makes it so delightful is that, not only will you learn a great deal, but you'll laugh while learning it. Durrell had a way of writing about animals, and people that was beautifully witty, yet very respectful at the same time.One word of warning: Once you've had a taste of Durrell you will be hooked!

I've loved the books by Gerald Durrell since I've read his My Family and Other Animals as a 12 year old. His sense of humor, beauty of his style, and knowledge of animals and people alike make his books (all of them) a rare treat of joyful reading.
Read this in the 70s, loved it. Now I have my own copy. Found I can still quote whole paragraphs from it. Perfectly good, low-cost reading copy, with line drawings, all pages intact. I am delighted to finally have my own copy after all these years.
Great book, not in good condition
The book I ordered came swiftly through the mail. Not very damaged either, I cannot wait to start reading another Durrell novel. He is so funny you will laugh out loud.
