If you have read any of my other reviews you will see I love Flower Class Corvettes...Once I saw this on Amazon I had to purchase it.I am glad I did this is a first rate military history about one of the Candian Navys Corvettes during WW2. Iti well written and balanced giving the read alot of infomration you wouldnt normal find in a book about a ship. It has everything you would like to know about the birth, life and death of a ship....excellent.
A story of real people from towns I have lived in. Not a real page turner but a real story.
Excellent and touching narrative, often felt like I was part of the crew.Ship lovers' delight!
A good read about a RCN ship of war
Book concerned uncle of mine so I was reading it from a different point of view.i found it very interesting if lightly written.
I bought this book for my wife who's Uncle Sid Hunter actually served on the Trentonian. The author,Roger Litwiller, instills a sense of pride of the crew serving on this vessel. The research of conducting personal interviews, gathering data and writing detailed descriptions of events, leads to a book that holds one's interest; and pays tribute to crew of HMCS Trentonian in the best, and worst of times. One last thing, the pictures are priceless.
The author's painstaking years of research pay off with a terrific book about a ship and the men who sailed her. Highly recommended for those interested in the Royal Canadian Navy, corvettes, and the longest battle of World War II, the Battle of the Atlantic. Many historic photos.
